Katalyzt Event makers, a Thiruvanathapuram-based event management company is coming with an IT Fashion Meet 2012 this August.
The concept behind ITFM 2012 is to capture the spirit, style and innovation of modern world in IT Sector around south India. It will raise awareness about India as a sourcing destination and change perceptions about promoting fashion industry. “It’s a new era in fashion – there are no rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming models all together.”
It aims to change the image of the capital city of Trivandrum, from a fashionably lukewarm city to the hub of fashion in kerala. IT Fashion Meet 2012 will make Trivandrum the new centre of fashion in Kerala and it will be a name to reckon with in the years to come…
The participants can be from all walks of IT World, but should exude confidence in their abilities and be team players. They will go through gruelling grooming sessions and be made aware of different aspects of fashion field, helping them to put their best foot forward into the world of fashion.
“Our company was into recruitment and recently we have started our event management. The fashion meet is our first mega event where we have decided to give something new for the youth working in IT,” said Sajith Nambiar, a member of the advisory panel from Katalyzt. The event is to facilitate a gateway to the fashion world for the IT crowd.
Renowned fashion designer Sanjana Jon will also be there in the panel. The auditions for the IT King and IT Queen will be held in Bangalore on July 21, in Hyderabad on July 28, in Chennai on August 4 and in Thiruvananthapuram on August 20.
Selected candidates from all the four states will be invited for the final screening on August 20. “There will be 30 contestants taking part in the final. Famous designers and choreographers will be present on the judge panel,” said Sajith. All the 30 finalists will also have a photo-shoot which will be held at Turtle on the Beach, Kovalam on August 24. “The grooming section will be held from August 20 to 25 at Technopark, Thiruvanathapuram,” he added. Asked about the novelty of the event, Sanjana says, “I always like to come to Kerala as it is a growing hub of fashion. There is lot of energy tapped inside the youth working in IT. And this contest will be a platform for them to come out and show themselves to the world on what they can do.”
Robert Naorem fashion stylist has also roped in for the show. He says, “It will be a welcome change for the professionals. From this platform some might even become future models and supermodels,” said Robert Naorem.
“The fashion meet will be first of its kind conducted in the country. The inaugural address will be by Shashi Tharoor. A pre-finale party will be arranged at Turtle on the Beach on August 24 with famous Djs and the grand finale will be held at Technopark on August 25,” said Sajith. “IT companies like Dell, CTS and Wipro have shown their interest. More enquiries are coming. Professionals have started registering for the competitions too,” he added.
