Chief Minister Ooomen Chandy has said that the possibility of setting up a helipad at Ponmudi and commencement of helicopter service to link it with other tourism destinations in the state will be looked into. He was speakling after laying the foundation stone for Kerala Tourism’s Rs.4-crore guest house and amenity centre here at Ponmudi.
The government was working out tourism projects suitable to the culture and tradition of the State, said CM and added that the government is trying to exploit the tourism potential by coming up with positive steps.
The four-star five-storeyed guest house is to come up on the 40 cents of land where the dilapidated government guest house is located. The guest house will have 24 rooms with all modern facilities, including a banquet hall and a board room.
