A two-day workshop organised by the Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited as part of formulating a master plan for the Vizhinjam International Terminal project concluded in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday.
Officials of various Departments and institutions and other stakeholders participated in the workshop, which was organised as a first step towards preparing a tender document and quoting global tenders for the project, a statement issued here by the company said.
Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited managing director A.S. Suresh Babu, and officials of AECOM, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) consultant of the project, explained the various draft proposals for the master plan and invited suggestions from the participants.
AECOM officials Aneerban Bhadra, Stuart (Australia), Stanley L.K. Liyu (Hong Kong), Vijay Aggrawal (U.S.) and Kumar Pichumani participated in the workshop.
The workshop had sessions on the development of basic infrastructure facilities for the project such as road, rail, power supply and water supply. Officials from the Departments of Town Planning, Public Works, Kerala State Electricity Board, City Corporation, Railway, Railway Vikas Nigam Ltd and Kerala Water Authority took part.
