  • Swadeshabhimani Ramakrishna Pillai is a historic figure in the field of News media and journalism from Trivandrum.  Known for his advocacy of free-speech even under monarchy and fearless exposes of what he feels is wrong with the system, he got banished during the Monarch-British era, but later got reinstated after Indian Independence in 1947
  • His modest house, a shrine for free-speech in the outskirts of Trivandrum is in disrepair
  • Organizations who wish to honor his memory is asking for govt intervention, since the 500,000 Rs grant that was allotted for renovations have not been utilized
